August in Colorado Springs

Hey there, Colorado Springs! August is here, which means summer is coming to a close. But that doesn’t mean the fun stops here! Here are some events going on this month to get you out into our community!

People’s Tiny House Festival
August 2nd-4th
11am-6pm
Have you ever seen those TV shows where they turn a shipping container into a house? Well, here’s your chance to see that in person. If you’re interested in minimalism or simplistic living, or you’re just curious how much they can fit into 300 square feet, the Tiny House Festival is for you! It’s a three day extravaganza with on-site camping, live music and food trucks. You’ll hear from Tiny House experts, like Tiny House Nation’s Zach Giffin. It’s located at the Pikes Peak International Raceway and tickets start at just $15.

Parade of Homes
August 2nd-18th
10am-6pm

Head out and tour the best of Colorado Springs! The Parade of Homes is an annual event where you can see inside your dream homes. With about 30 homes being featured, you can make an entire weekend of it visiting every single one, or you can pick and choose only your favorites. You have almost two weeks to tour them! Get inspired by the beautiful architecture and home decor, featuring builders like Oakwood, Classic, Goetzmann, Level 1, David Weekley, and many more. Tickets are $15, and this is definitely one of our favorite events of the year. https://www.springsparade.com/

Friends Trivia Bar Crawl
August 10th
4pm-10pm

Get your chance to win the Geller Cup and join the Friends Trivia Bar Crawl! Being hosted by Crawl With Us, you will compete in teams of up to 8 people to answer over 100 questions at 4 different venues. Tickets are $15-$20 and there will be multiple prizes and no cover costs. If you know Friends (really, who doesn’t?), throw on a sweater vest like Chandler and compete in the biggest Friends party ever!

Teddy Bear Day at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
August 17th 9am-4pm

What kid doesn’t want to bring their favorite stuffed animal everywhere they go? Have your kiddos bring their best buddy to see the giraffes and the wallabies! Kids who bring a stuffed animal will receive a discounted ticket (save $10)! There will be a Teddy Bear Clinic set up at the Lodge at Moose Lake to ensure all of our plush friends are in “beary good” health. Volunteers from the Children’s Hospital will even be there to administer any “medical” procedures that may be necessary. This is a great way to familiarize your kids with what they can expect from a doctors’ visit! There will also be animal-care demonstrations throughout the day with a Teddy Bear Day theme. Our stuffed animals friends won’t want to miss this!
